Web Standards

At K O Web Design we use code that is recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The W3C develop many of the most common coding languages including those used by us.

We are proud to use XHTML in our designs as the combination of XML and HTML results in well formed documents. Unlike HTML alone, XHTML is compatible with all internet browsers and is extremely functional. At K O Web Design we validate all of our documents with the W3C to ensure there are no errors in the code as the smallest of mistakes can have a big impact.

At K O Web Design we style our documents using a dedicated document known as a CSS file. In old documents the code that formatted (styled) the designs was contained in each and every HTML document. Now all the formatting rules are contained within one central document that only needs to be loaded once which improves page speed in addition to design consistency throughout the site.

We go on to view our designs in a minimum of eight different browsers after the design is finished and the XHMTL and CSS have been validated. This helps us to iron out any potential issues at the earliest opportunity.
